Personal Story Power Online Outline
So twice a year Bo does Personal Story Power event in La Jolla, California with only less than 120 seats available, it is booked up 1 year in advance, so Bo has decided to make this training available to more people by opening up an online version of the course.
Online video training, I’ve found to be the next best thing to attending a live event.
The advantage is you can go over the material many times over.
- Bo’s powerful routine to create that powerful, engaging presence on stage to connect with your audience. He believes confidence is self-created and why its your birthright to be on stage.
- How to find the best portions of your story that’ll keep your audience begging for more, how to cut out the dump stories
- How to use your body: hips, hands & movement while telling your stories to captivate and hold people’s attention
- Bo’s rehearsal ritual he does everytime he’s about to go on stage. Everyone wants to win, but not everyone has the will for Preparation
- Downloadable writing exercises
Bo Eason’s Personal Story
Bo says around the age of 9-12 we all go through a very difficult experience, that shapes & define who we are for the rest of our lives.
For Bo it was not making the little league team.
There was this singular moment that occurred when his old brother made the team & he was watching him get all excited & happy on the phone and his brother excitedly handed the phone over to Bo “Hey coach wants to talk to you!”
and Bo took the phone and listened to the coach tell him that he did not make the team and he just sat there frozen.
And watched his brother’s facial expression go from happy & excited to morph into this look of disappointment & sadness.
And as he saw that shift in his brother’s face, it hurt him deeply.
As Bo tells this story on stage you can watch him get choked up even to this day as he’s explaining this.
He decided from that moment, that he’ll never allow that to happen ever again. That he wasn’t going to get cut every again.
These painful experiences is the gold that other people want to connect to.
Bo goes on to do amazing things after that point like making it to the NFL and becoming the best safety in the league.
He uses this defining moment in his storytelling to tell people who he is at his core, how he is committed to excellence & always doing his best because it’s all personal & emotional to him.
Personal Story Power Results
Before I go into some of my results, let me talk about one of Bo’s client which was a financial guy.
Through working with this particular client, Bo mined out that his defining moment was when he was 12 years old, he came home and saw his dad on the couch in his underwear drunk and his mom was in the kitchen crying because his dad had just lost all of their money.
And he decided in that moment, that was never going to happen to another family as long as I’m alive.
And now he dedicates his life to making sure no other family feels those feelings again.
So he was in the financial business but the problem was he was not telling any of his clients about this backstory.
He thought it would be shameful.
But as soon as he began sharing this story and telling people why what he does for a living was so personal & emotional to him, his results skyrocketed. Clients were basically coming to him and saying take all of my money.
Because clients could see that he was so emotionally dedicated to his financial services.
This is what Bo is talking about, when he says your power lies in your personal stories.
My Experience with Sharing My Personal Story
So I am currently running two online businesses.
My Lead Generation Business, where I generate customers for local businesses using website rankings & free traffic is a business that’s currently doing multiple six figures in revenue. I have a team of 5 people working virtually for me. And it was the first success I had online.
When I started injecting my personal story at my company site: lppeileads.com
I began to see an immediate difference in my ability to close new business deals. Instead of making myself look like any other online marketing company, I chose to stand out by sharing a lot more about myself and my processes I go through to produce results for clients.
When I would get on the phone with clients, I would tell them I’m this driven, young entrepreneur that’s dedicated to success.
This doesn’t mean I’ll land every prospect but that clients that do choose to do business with me, I feel I have a stronger connection with because I let them get to know who I am by powerfully telling my personal story and how committed I am being the best at what I do.
To give you a little back story…
when I was 9 years old, I was told by my mom during a drive back from our grandparent’s house that our family will be moving to the United States in 2 weeks.
My entire life changed from that moment. I still remember looking at my mom telling me this crazy news through the car’s back mirror and looking at her in disbelief and soon throwing a fit, not wanting to believe or accept any of it.
At 9 years old I would soon realize that there’s nothing I could do and after some time I had to accept this fate and then the real struggle began as I would begin going to an American school not knowing any English, forced to make all new friends & deal with going from a pretty confident kid to all of the sudden feeling less than or inadequate in this new environment.
This sudden shift in who I thought I was to now feeling like I was several steps behind all the other kids because suddenly I couldn’t even speak the language was painful for me.
I decided in that moment that I was not going to allow these new challenges define who I was, instead I was going to do whatever it takes to overcome all of these new obstacles & become the best.
I would go on to become one of the top GPA students in short 3 years and ever since then I’ve thrived in uncomfortable situations where I was thrown into a brand new situation where I was the underdog but then I would gradually climb to the top position.
Whether that was becoming the best player on the soccer team, or becoming the best player on my server in World of Warcraft, or making brand new friends in College and creating an awesome social life around me, then finally becoming an full time entrepreneur at age 25 able to work from home.
I’ve carried that mentality of diving into something head first and figuring things out as I go, with steadfast dedication I have the confidence that I know I can succeed in anything I really go after.
I tell clients this is the kind of DNA to succeed you’re dealing with.
Bo Eason’s online course: Personal Story Power is very powerful when properly applied.
He makes an interesting point about the information age, which he believes is ending soon.
Is that people say in modern Internet age people have short attention spans because there’s so much noise & distractions out there.
However human beings are community-based creatures that crave emotional connections with others.
As everything becomes digitized there is an ever-increasing deficit on this raw, basic human need for connection.
This is why Bo believes the people that’ll have the most impact today & in the future will be those that are able to impact others emotionally through their personal stories and impact communities in a positive manner.
As technology advances with things like food delivery straight to your doorstep so you don’t even have to go outside and interact with real humans anymore, people are going to crave for the need to connect.
This is why those that are able to harness their own personal stories & share their unique insights & perspectives will stand out for the rest, be able to actually hold people’s attention & produce far greater results for themselves, their company or any services they offer.
Bo Eason, in my opinion, is a very high level speaker & teacher.
He knows how to captivate your attention & teach in a way that is engaging and inspiring, giving plenty of practical tips & methods along the way.
I high recommend his course.
My Critique for Personal Story Power?
My only critique of this course might be that it is marketed for anybody & everybody but I do believe certain people will gain much more out of it than others.
For example if you’re already an entrepreneur with high-income skillset then you may benefit much more greatly than say someone that’s working a 9 to 5 job still that they hate and they aren’t cracking 6 figure income yet.
No matter how amazing your life story is, there is one thing that precede in importance than identifying your unique story and that’s your skills.
How much money you make is a direct reflection of how much value you’re bringing to the marketplace.
The first step in building wealth for yourself is to first develop high-income skills.
Which is any skill that allows you to make at least $10K per month.
Whether that’d be copywriting, social media management, SEO, sales, etc
Idetinfying the gold in your personal story is great, but if you cannot deliver world class results to your clients with exceptional skillset you will never sustain your success.
Even Bo Eason developed high-level skills through years & years of grinding when he became an NFL safety or top stage performer through working with Al Pacino.
Developing your high-income skills is what builds financial confidence.
For me it was learrning the skill of lead generation for small businesses.
Once I learned this skill from a mentor, now I could actually build a real business around it and then came to use of my own personal story to separate myself from other marketers so that I could attract awesome clients & command top dollars for my services.
But the foundation of my success is a laser focus on always developing my skills that allows me to bring tremendous value to the marketplace.
Look I know what its like to get stuck in the personal development phase of the journey, I was there once.
Consuming teachings from one motivational speaker to another.
It gave me a great mindset but I had developed no real skills.
Everything changed when I got a mentor that taught me something specific & tangible that allowed me to make a difference in other people’s lives & their businesses.
Now that is still my primary business, but my second business is now showing other aspiring entrepreneurs how they can do the same. Check out our local lead generation coaching program here.
When you coup your high-income skills with Bo Eason’s Personal Story Power teachings, the results can be extremely powerful & profound.
