Let me tell ya’ll my cool lil’ story.
How I went from frustrated 25 year old only making $35K a year to becoming a successful internet entrepreneur that’s now making $44K per month this year 2018 – with my own lead generation business.
Basically using the internet to generate leads (more customers) for small businesses.
In 2014, I found my mentor, Dan (pictured in the middle) and invested in his lead gen coaching program that taught me that fastest way to making 6 figures online is to begin providing high-demand service to people with money (aka small business owners)!
What’s the one thing that’s keeping most of these small business owners up at night?
How can I get more customers…
Why are they faced with this problem?
Many of their customers have shifted their attention to the internet (smartphones, tablets, computers)…
And these business owners don’t have a clue on how to increase their presence or visibility on the internet.
Hell, many of them didn’t grow up with the internet, they can hardly work their email. Let alone understand how to generate leads using free traffic.
How I landed my first $750 per month lead gen client
I had no prior online experience.
I simply followed the training of Dan’s lead gen program to the T.
and built this limousine rental site in Lansing, MI.
(please do not call that number though & bug my client)
This site didn’t take me long to build.
I probably spent in total 4-5 hours building / ranking it.
Ya wanna know what’s crazy?
I haven’t touched this site since 2014 and its been making me $750 per month on auto-pilot.
We use a tracking phone system (available inside the coaching program) that allows us to keep track of every phone call we generate for our client.
Our client receives email copy of every call and the recording of each call as well.
So my clients know exactly black & white how much money they made from my leads every month.
This is very important.
because when my clients can see that my leads are helping him generate additional $10K to $20K more in business then they can easily justify the small fee that they’re paying me every month to keep the leads coming in.
The key is this, we’re not looking to get rich off of 1 client.
All we want to do is take a small piece of the pie from each of these niches / markets.
Insert ourselves in the mix and take a lil’ sliver to deliver. I currently have 45 clients across the US.
They’re all extremely happy with all the additional business I’m sending them every month.
Some pay me a flat fee deal, some pay me per lead, some pay me a percentage of the business they close particuary for a niche that’s high ticket jobs.
For example, I have an asphalt contractor in Cali that pays me 5% on any jobs above $100K or more. (10% for any jobs less than $100K)
When he landed a big commercial asphalt paving job for $120K, he cut me a fat paycheck of $6000

Why is Lead Generation the Best Model for Local Marketing? Why Its Better Than SEO?
Because you own all of the assets / the lead gen properties.
If you do SEO for others, and rank other people’s sites, what are you gonna do if they decide to replace you or stop paying you?
All of your SEO efforts that you worked so hard for is out the window.
This is why these days in 2018 I only rank my own lead gen properties.
We call it the virtual real estate model.
I know that as long as I rank my own sites, it’ll eventually generate bunch of leads and it’ll turn into passive income streams for me.
Because I own the asset, if I get a bad business owner I can easily replace him with somebody else.
Kinda like kicking out a bad tenant.
The important thing is that I have all the control.
I can decide who I work with. Who I send the leads to.
So that I know that I’ll always get paid.
This is how I’ve kept the same clients since 2014 when I started, and they’ve paid me month after month, and year after year.
Because they know that if they don’t pay me. I can send the leads to their competitor.
This solves the #1 issue plaguing most SEO companies.
Now there’s few other things we do that make our businesses even stronger to ensure full customer retention which is covered in this coaching program.
There’s nothing worse than landing a SEO client and then having that client back out of the agreed upon contract just few months later, after you put all this work in.
Its a complete waste of time & money.
Free Traffic vs. Paid Traffic
There’s a lot of courses coming out these days that teach local lead generation using Facebook ads or Google adwords.
Here’s my take on it.
When you have to generate leads with paid ads, the ad cost is going to significantly cut into your profit margins.
So suddenly you have to work with more clients to make the same amount of money or even less.
I have my fair share of experience with Facebook Ads & Adwords, what I found (especially with FB) is that ad cost can spike up randomly which causes you to only break even or some days lose money on ads.
Some ads will stop performing so you have to kill it before it continues to rip into your wallet.
This means when you begin running ads, you have to do daily maintenance and monitoring.
Paid ads are not as passive “set it & forget it” kind of business like the gurus want you to believe.
Some coaches say once you get a campaign successful, you only need to check on it once every week or so.
Hmm… good luck with that.
I’ve not found this to be true.
My ads needed a lot more monitoring than that. At least once a day to be optimal imo.
Another thing that really turned me off about paid ads is because you’re depending on paid clicks, as soon as you stop paying Mark Zuckerberg your business comes to a screeching halt.
Its like a drug, people are attracted to it because it produces instantaneous results, like a quick hit of cocaine but when you become dependent on it, it leaves you weaker & weaker in the long run.
Sometimes an ad account gets suspended, next thing you know you go from making money daily to not making any money at all.
I didn’t like how fragile that was.
With free traffic, I can’t even turn off my traffic, it just goes non-stop, 24/7 because the internet doesn’t sleep.
I don’t have to monitor it or pay any mind to it at all.
It makes me money on its own.
And because there’s no ad cost, my profit margin is nearly 100%.
So I’m able to make more money with less clients.
Hey and leads generated with free traffic is better quality as well, because this is traffic that was seeking you out first. (attraction marketing)
Facebook ads are interruption marketing, you gotta interrupt someone browsing through their newsfeed & convince them to become a customer.
Its just a lot easier to get traffic with Facebook ads, since all you gotta do is pay some money, so people are flocking to it like its the best thing since slice bread.
Short sided imo.
Easy is overrated.
Don’t get me wrong, I might sometimes use paid ads to drive traffic for a new client to impress them while my SEO / Lead Gen is kicking in.
But this is a short term play.
I would not depend on paid traffic for the long term.
You end up working more for less money.
Do I Need A Mentor or Could I Just Figure This Out on My Own?
I used to thing these exact thoughts.
Maybe I can figure this whole lead generation business model on my own?
I’m sure the info is out there somewhere for free?
What I found though is that with this lead generation business, having better ranking abilities than the competition is crucial.
And it might be just 1 or 2 things that allows you to beat the current top ranking companies & their site.
And that makes all of the difference.
Top guy gets like 80% of the action.
When you begin compromising on investing in your skillset, you began to struggle & suddenly your road to success can take many times longer.
For example, inside our lead gen coaching program, we employ a group linking strategy that we do with just our students, that allow us an extra strong boost in the rankings.
Not to mention we now have 3200 students so we have many lead gen sites out there which allows us to aggregate a lot of data on what’s working best for SEO currently.
Being networked with these elite internet marketers is what gave me the supreme confidence in the marketplace.
I knew that if I ever got stuck, someone in the group is there to get me through anything.
In this way we all help each other in this group to be successful.
Sometimes it’s just 1 quick tip or fix that can make all of the difference.
Especially when it comes to organic search.
Also the on-going mentorship in how to be a good entrepreneur in general has allowed me to reach levels of success in a compressed time.
I can’t even put a price tag on having a good mentor. It has allowed me to make so much more money & with less struggle.
Working hard is cool, but working smarter is even more crucial.
My readership knows that I make most of my online income with local lead generation.
I truly believe it is the best online business model out there.
As I’ve said before many times on this blog, I’m just a kid that joined this coaching program with literally nothing, only making $2100 per month, living in a shitty apartment, driving a beat up car.
I didn’t have any confidence when it comes to my ability to produce income.
It still amazes me that just 7 months after I joined the program, I was able to quit my job and I haven’t had a job since.
That realization that you don’t need to depend on a company or a job to feed you is life changing.
The opportunity we have now with the internet is just mindblowing.
A lawyer or doctor needs to go to school for 8 years, get into $100K to $200K student loan debt, which they have to pay off over 10-20 years with interest and after they graduate make $100K to $200K a year.
Its insane that 3.5 years after I started doing lead generation, I’m now making roughly $528K per year and steadily climbing with no ceiling in sight.
I now have realistic goals to hit $100K in profit per month in the next 1-2 years.
None of this would of have been possible without my mentor and his lead gen biz model that he taught me. I actually consider myself mentor-made not self-made.
Often times as entrepreneurs we give ourselves too much credit.
Just like a jockey & his horse, the horse is at least 10x more important, similarly much of my success is due to the vehicle.
For me, my vehicle was doing lead generation for local businesses using free traffic, that I was mentored through with this coaching program.
