Ezra Firestone has got few e-Commerce courses out with focus on using the dropshipping model which means you’ll be using paid traffic to drive your sales.
Paid traffic can work great with the right product but it can also be utter disaster if you don’t know what you’re doing, causing you to lose bunch of money on ads that don’t convert so its best to get a mentor to walk you through this.
His main courses include Smart Google Traffic few other upsells and he also does live events called the eCommerce All-stars.
Although I believe the lead generation business is a much faster path to making your first 6 figure income online, plenty of people are finding success with e-Commerce dropship model as well.
There are definitely key skills one has to master for both businesses. Let’s see how good Ezra is as a coach, shall we.
Who is Ezra Firestone?
He is an ecommerce guy that supposedly went from 4Mil to 25Mil in 12 months.
Granted when it comes to ecommerce there’s a lot of factors that go into how these numbers were produced.
Most importantly, how much was the actual ad spend to attain the results and what was the net profit?
Because I do know some ecommerce guys that are super busy running a multiple 6 figure per month business, yet their profit margin is so slim that they are at times getting burnt out and reaching for something different in their internet business. (like local lead gen)
Ezra is mostly using paid traffic to attain these results.
Should you be using Paid Traffic when first starting out?
In his online training course, “Smart Google Traffic”
Few paid traffic sources are taught including Adwords, YouTube, Display Network, & Google Shopping.
Although Ezra has taught extensively on Facebook advertising before. With this 5 module training course he seems to be focusing on the Google advertising platform like Adwords.
On paper, it looks great to know all these different skills to advertise online, but in actual reality when it comes to making money on the internet.
The only thing that matters when using paid ads is which platform produces the highest ROI (Return on Investment), so not all platform will be viable for all products.
In my opinion if you want to go the paid traffic route, Facebook Ads & Google Adwords is the only game to play, why? Because most people are spending their time on Facebook & most people use Google to search the internet for whatever they want or need.
When you begin playing ball in other paid traffic sources, you can stretch yourself too thin and if you’re not careful, you will begin losing money.
When you spend thousands of dollars, put hours into a project and only make few hundred dollars in the end, it can be bit disheartening, or even worse many that try out paid advertising & ecommerce end up losing money, get discouraged, distracted & give up.
I’ve definitely had my fair share of struggles when it comes to the ecommerce game powered by facebook ads. Finally managed to make few campaigns successful / profitable in the end but boy did it really test my patience.
At the time I already had a booming lead generation business using free traffic that allowed me to take some risks like willing to shell out some money, eat shit & be a complete total noob for a while for the pursuit of learning a new skillset.
The thing is we all have to pay the piper, the question is how much do you have to sacrifice before you start seeing that success? How much can you really afford to invest in your dreams of becoming an entrepreneur?
This is why I prefer learning the skills to be able to harness the power of free traffic, especially for those of you that are just starting out trying to make money from home.
But I mean even for myself after several years being a full time online entrepreneur, free traffic is still my main source of income.
How do you think you found this article? *wink *wink
The joys of being able to harness the power of Free Traffic
It is what gives me peace of mind and a feeling of freedom because I’m not worried about my ad campaign every day, constantly checking my ad spend, my ROI & checking if I was profitable for the day or not.
With free traffic, I just rank my sites to page 1 and forget about it, and these sites generate income for me month after month with no more additional work needed on my end.
Ezra’s Smart Google Traffic Course Outline
Me & my team went through his course and dissected it.
His course identifies the fact that Google is indeed the largest network in the world for both search & advertising.
Hey it’s over double the size of Facebook apparently.
I question though if bigger is better though? I mean in my opinion a lot of Ecommerce guys love using Facebook because Facebook’s advertising platform is so much more dynamic in the way you can target people with their interest, age, income, etc.
But still if you can get adwords to work for you then why not utilize both for your business?
Recently there is a huge influx of training / coaching programs that are all teaching people how to use Facebook ads.
Its bit cringe to be honest, where is the originality?
I see a lot of wannabee coaches out there for entrepreneurs. It’s like becoming the next self-help industry. But I digress.
Maybe this is why Ezra decided to focus more on Google Adwords this time?
Module1: Building Accounts & Setting up shit
Nothing too special here, just about building ad accounts and various profiles to begin marketing.
Module2: How to create remarketing & display ads
How to use GDN (Google display network), the basics & more. Creating lists, ads & using list from AdWords vs GAN. Pretty cool stuff if you’re balls deep in the ecommerce game.
Module3: Brand Searching Campaign
For me this is adwords 101, but it goes into ensuring that your competition aren’t going to bid on your branding keyword at like 1 cent per click. For example, if you had a brand called “Cute Furry Bear Slippers”, you want to make sure you set a good amount of bid amount on this brand keyword so that a competitor doesn’t come in and bid on this keyword for 1 cent and steal some of your audience. Also goes into bit about using Adwords for prospecting.
Module4: Google Shoppin’
Goes into Google shopping for some more prospecting and remarketing tool for brand searches. Google shopping is a comparison shopping search engine that will compare products from Amazon, Google, etc.
Module5: Youtube and Shoppable TrueView
I must admit, most of the training course that was covered I knew about but I haven’t really tested with Shoppable TrueView ads, apparently Ezra uses it for remarketing campaigns, showing new products to existing customers. He also shows you how to combine Google shopping with youtube pre-roll video ads. Dank.
Bonus Module! Use Google’s fine ass for prospecting!
Using Google adwords “ecosystem” to find prospect campaigns!
This is a 2 day event which gives you an over the shoulder look at some of Ezra’s own e-Commerce business, taking a look at his traffic and conversions. Also guest speakers. Also teaches you more about project management.
Smart Facebook Messenger
Teaching you about Facebook’s new messenger ads that sends private messeges to your followers. Has some serious potential depending on the product you’re promoting.
Advanced E-Commerce Email Marketing
Straight to the point email marketing lessons to increase sales by 30 to 40%.
Final Word on Ezra’s Smart Google Traffic Training Program, Pros & Cons of Starting an Ecommerce Business
I do wish all of his different training were consolidated in one area instead of having to get different products from him to understand how to do the entire eCom business properly.
I really enjoyed his attention to his remarketing campaigns.
Remarketing campaigns is basically being able to retarget your customers with additional ads.
It happens often, for example you go to Amazon and check out some computer chairs and next thing you know you are seeing similar computer chair ads in Facebook and other sites you visit.
His training course was a good reminder to use the shit out of remarketing campaigns, I mean my mentors always say second money is the easy money.
Customers that buy from you are gonna be warmed up to buying more from you!
For a new comer though his course may take some time to digest through and to actually make it work successfully for them so that they are beginning to make money online.
When it comes to paid advertising ecommerce business, you gotta have some capital up front to spend and spend willingly with as little attachment to the results as possible because there is a learning phase that separates the wheat from the chaff.
This can be quite the painful & scary experience if you’re someone that is struggling to make ends meet, or still working that dreadful 9 to 5.
The advantage of paid advertising is that you can start getting traffic right away, but there is always a price to pay for every click, ever customer you acquire. Which I often find a lot of these ecommerce guys conveniently leave out in their interviews.
& when you’re paying for every click, the pressure is on you that much more to be able to not just get people to visit your ecommerce site, but your email marketing content needs to be on point so that you actually convert the traffic into sales. This requires very high level copywriting skills….
Which in of itself is a skill that requires separate training in my personal opinion.
In fact there are entire training programs & coaches out there that only coach about proper copy writing. You know that awesome, roll off the tongue type of writing that is both fun to read & influential into making you buy shit.
Because when you’re spending thousands of dollars per day on clicks to your website, you want to ensure that every headline of your site & emails produce maximum amount of conversions possible. Even 1-3% makes a big different in the long run.
This requires a lot of testing and trial & error. In my opinion for a newbie to internet business, it’s a pretty difficult / high level skillset that may take several years to really master.
Should I build a business around my Passions?
A lot of people are attracted to ecommerce because they might be passionate about certain products and they wrongly believe that they need to get into a business around their passions.
I used to think that way also.
It costed me thousands.
Now I know it is improper mindset that can lead to hundreds of hours wasted and thousands of dollars of opportunity cost.
Because not all passionate things = great business opportunity.
When you got several million in the bank and you are out of the rat race with money, then sure go start some business around your passions.
But while you’re still working 9 to 5, you need a vehicle that has the most power & goes the fastest & sexiest at being able to create multiple streams of income for yourself pronto.
My mentor told me, your internet business can fuel your passions. But don’t let your passions put blinders on you and you miss out on much easier money making opportunities that exist.
People that go for their passions or their “love” are broke.
Go make money doing what’s the easiest & has the most leverage, and then go do something you love like surfing, mountain climbing, going out to bars to hit on chicks, etc.
Your passion & your business doesn’t have to be mutually inclusive.
Free Traffic Allows you to always move forward
You see when you learn the skills of free traffic or SEO (Search Engine Optimization) especially in local marketing, then you’re always moving forward because every hour, every dime spent on these projects always moves that site closer to page 1 where it will make money for you for years to come.
With paid advertising, you can spend thousands of dollars and if you had one of the key variables off, then you could lose money and end up back to square one.
With free traffic, you don’t have to be good at sales even or be excellent at writing content, you don’t even need any email marketing.
Which is a huge relief for myself & most newbies, I mean let’s face it, writing email marketing sucks ass especially when you don’t know if any of your emails will ever convert or produce sales….I generally feel spammy & gross when promoting a product that I don’t give 2 shits about.
With free traffic, you don’t take any backward step. You’re always moving forward, every content you write, will propel that site forward.
That is the key to success.
A system that gives you a foothold and allows you to NEVER be stuck.
Even with relationships, health, etc. You need to have a way to not be stuck. If you think on that it’s a very profound concept. It’ll get you through anything.
Progress yields motivation. Motivation yields consistent application of success principles.
Consistent application of success principles yields greater progress.
It becomes a positive feedback loop taking you to higher & higher levels consistently. You can become the top tier 3-5% of the guys & gals that actually make it big online, instead of getting frustrated, discouraged & quitting.
If selling ecommerce appeals to you, great try out Ezra’s course, you’re gonna learn some pretty dope ninja retargeting tricks.
However I strongly feel one needs to also invest some time into building sites for themselves that rank and generate free traffic if you’re starting your internet career or even if you’ve been at this for a while.
Free traffic is the fragrant balm that calms that doubtful chatters & eases the entrepreneurial soul.
It’s what produces the most consistent forward progress AND long term results with the least amount of learning curb. The very best out of any other online money making opportunities in my humble opinion!
6 months after I joined this lead generation coaching program, I was able to quit my 9 to 5 job for good and I’ve been self-employed ever since.
Now I make $50K per month online consistently and passively, nearly all profit, I don’t have to spend any money on Facebook ads either because all of my results are generated with free traffic, which is the ultimate key to a lifestyle of freedom.
